Am getting a 404 error there Jade!
My thoughts are that it isn't a big enough leap in specs for a proper second generation headset. Personally I think that HTC have nerfed the resolution and FOV to accommodate their wireless add-on tbh.
Everyone was expecting a 2K headset with a slightly higher FOV, 120-130°.
Once the Rift CV2 launches next year with either a 2K headset with 120-130° FOV or a 4K headset with a 120-130° FOV (depending on whether they have foveated rendering sorted out yet) they'll struggle to sell that many.
It's a REALLY daft and short sighted business decision tbh, but given the mess that HTC have been in for so long it's one that doesn't surprise me.
They'll sell a few this year but we'll also see the Rift price dropping again to $299/£299 this year too, but I can't see them selling that many next year when a Rift with superior specs has been released.
It's a real shame because the VR industry needs competition to drive the technology but with the Vive Pro Oculus can just sit back and relax until we hear more about LG's headset (assuming they'll ever release the thing lol).
