Note: This is relevant for Assetto Corsa
I'm not to sure how custom skins are going to work with multiplayer at present. When I configure a dedi server I have to select the cars to be run on the server as well as the skins.
When a user connects, the server automatically issues a skin to the client (there is no way for the client to select the skin), using the order in which the car/skin combo has been added to the server list.
Im not to sure if the client can over-ride this when using custom skins and even if it can be done I don't know if other players will be able to see the skin. Has anybody done this before.
It may be possible to add the skin to the server as well as to the client to enable selection in multiplayer. However, this is not something I have experimented with before so I don't really know anything until I have started playing with it a bit.
It is also likely that this approach will only work on servers that have the skin installed.
Oh for the days of live for speed where custom skins would upload from the client to the server and then back down to other users as they connected......
Also just to note at the moment I am having trouble running the 488 on the server - I get checksum errors when connecting. I will try and find the solution for these issues also.
