Great that more people can get into VR but I can't see it taking off on Macs tbh. For starters people are going to have to spend $200 more because Apple/Apple GPU manufacturers still haven't sorted out whatever problem there was that appeared after Oculus ditched Extended Mode so they're going to be forced to buy a Vive rather than a Rift, and then they're going to have to spend even more money on getting a Mac powerful enough to run the thing.
I absolutely despise the bloody machines after being forced to work with the bloody things for three years when working in the media industry. The best thing I did for the company before leaving was replacing the Macs with PCs.
If there were more tech savvy people running departments in the industry NOBODY would be using the things. It involves an initial bigger outlay to build the PCs and transfer your licences for the likes of Photoshop, Acrobat and Quark XPress from Mac licences to PC licences but after that you'll cut your IT budget in half for the foreseeable future because Macs are always a real BITCH to upgrade or expensive to buy new more powerful Mac hardware.
Apple have a stranglehold on the media industry because back in the 90s PCs were SHITE at DTP and working with images so all of the media companies paid over-the-odds for hardware and software. By the time PCs not only caught up but overtook Macs with hardware and operating systems it was too late, because journalists, photographers etc generally don't have a clue when it comes to IT. So these idiots are paying over-the-odds for shite hardware that's a pain in the arse and expensive to upgrade...and Apple have managed to con EVERYONE into thinking that paying more money for a shite machine that can't process it's way out out of a paper bag and has a Mouse that only has ONE fucking button is A COOL THING.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE APPLE
